Clinton Engelberger is the Newsletter Editor at the Florida Trib, where he oversees production and launched Election Watch Weekly, the Trib's newest newsletter covering Florida's 2026 midterm elections.
As a freelance reporter, his work focuses on local policy, nonprofits and LGBTQ communities and organizations, with reporting published in Suncoast Searchlight, the Albany Times Union, Philadelphia Gay News, Washington Blade and OutSFL. He writes fact briefs that verify public claims and reports on how policy decisions affect Florida communities, including coverage of Manatee County nonprofits facing uncertainty over proposed citizenship verification requirements, which helped bring attention to the issue as county officials later walked back the proposal. His feature on Sarasota-area domestic violence survivors was named a finalist in the 2026 Society of Professional Journalists Sunshine State Awards' Human Interest Story category.
