How can I vote early?

Early voting starts on Oct. 21 and runs through Nov. 3. You can check the hours, current wait times and addresses of Duval’s early voting at the Supervisor of Elections website.

If I vote in person, what do I need to know beforehand?

If you plan to vote in person, keep these points in mind:

  • You need to bring valid and current identification that include your photo AND signature. Examples of this kind of identification include Florida Driver License, Florida ID Card, U.S. Passport, Debit or Credit Card (if it has your photo), Military ID, Student ID, Retirement Center ID, Neighborhood Association ID, Public Assistance ID, Veteran Health ID, Concealed Weapon License, or government employee ID card. If your photo ID does not include your signature, you will be asked to provide another one that does. If you forget your ID, you can vote but it will be a provisional ballot that will later be evaluated for eligibility.
  • If you are voting early, you can vote at any early voting site. You can check the hours, current wait times and addresses of Duval’s early voting at the Supervisor of Elections website.
  • If you are voting on Election Day, you can vote ONLY at your designated neighborhood precinct. You can check your precinct at the Supervisor of Elections website.
If I vote by mail, what do I need to know?

If you have not yet requested your vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot in 2024, you will need to do so due to changes in the state law.

Not sure if you’ve requested a vote by mail ballot this year? You can check on that at the Duval Supervisor of Elections website voter lookup tool, and request it there. To request a vote by mail ballot, you will need your driver’s license number, Florida ID number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number.

The Supervisor of Elections must receive your VBM ballot by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Keep this in mind if you are putting it in the mail! The postmark on the envelope will not matter; it is when it is received that counts.

Remember that the Supervisor of Elections must receive your VBM ballot by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5.
