Lindsey Denmark, a local real estate agent, won the Duval County School Board District 6 race against Clarence James, perpetuating the board’s conservative political makeup. She will replace Moms for Liberty-backed Board Chair Charlotte Joyce who is now vying for City Council.

Denmark campaigned on reducing the amount of violence in schools, citing numbers in the thousands for fighting incidents. Violent incidents such as fighting or battery have steadily decreased across the district according to reports made to the Florida Department of Education. The district officials said they are unfamiliar with the numbers each candidate touts.

Lindsey Denmark is the next Duval County School Board member for District 6, replacing Board Chair Charlotte Joyce.

With nearly $75,000 of contributions to her campaign, Denmark has received endorsements from sitting District 6 Board Member Joyce, Duval school board Vice Chair April Carney and state Senator Clay Yarborough.

All of those elected officials have since received financial or public endorsements from Moms for Liberty.

Denmark won with 53% of the vote.
