About us

The Florida Trib is a nonprofit newsroom producing high-impact government accountability and investigative journalism in the public interest. Our mission is to provide fact-based news and information that holds government and power accountable, focusing on undercovered topics and collaboration with other news organizations and the community.

The Florida Trib is committed to doing the sort of in-depth investigations that are now too few and far between due to seismic shifts in the for-profit business model for local and state-wide news. We work in collaboration with existing news outlets — print, radio, TV and digital — to prioritize stories that wouldn’t otherwise get told. Since our founding in 2021, The Trib’s journalism has had an outsize impact for its size, and won awards at the state and national level.
