Tracie Davis is the incumbent, having served in the state Senate since 2022.

Tracie Davis won a landslide victory in the Democratic primary Tuesday for Florida Senate District 5, which encompasses a large part of Duval County.

Davis, a Jacksonville native, is the incumbent, having represented the district since 2022. Prior to becoming a state senator, she represented Jacksonville as the state representative for District 13.

She earned more than 95% of the vote in her race against Francky L. Jeanty.

Davis’ platform includes the expansion of Medicaid throughout the state and increased funding for the Duval County School District, including pay raises for teachers and decreasing class sizes.

Davis will face a nominal write-in candidate in the November general election, all but guaranteeing her the seat.
