Democrat Tyrona Clark-Murray and Republican Mike Muldoon will face off in a May 16 runoff for Jacksonville’s City Council District 9 after no candidate in the crowded race received enough of the vote to win a majority.

Will Lahnen, a Navy veteran who now serves as the head of finance and procurement for the Wounded Warrior Project, will now represent Jacksonville City Council District 3.

The two will head to a May 16 runoff in their bids to represent Jacksonville City Council District 8, which contains most of Northwest Jacksonville north of the Trout River.

Joe Carlucci, the third generation of a local political dynasty, will join his father on the Jacksonville City Council after winning District 5 in Tuesday’s election.

Both candidates were last elected to public office in the 1990s, but now they say they present the best option for Southwest Jacksonville.

Jacksonville City Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman won re-election Tuesday, besting three Democratic opponents to hold onto her position.

Democrat Ramon Day and Republican Raul Arias will face each other in a May 16 runoff for Jacksonville’s City Council District 11, representing Southeast Jacksonville.

Republican Jacksonville City Councilman Randy White beat back two Democratic opponents to win a second full term representing the city’s Westside.
